Growth & Jobs | Residents in under-resourced communities groomed for jobs, skills training
Project STAR and the Human Resource Management Association of Jamaica (HRMAJ) have entered into a strategic partnership to collaborate on human capital development programs in targeted communities. The initiative starts with the creation of a job readiness tool for the Economic Transformation Working Group to assess and match the skills and interests of community residents for job and training opportunities. Project STAR is a social and economic development initiative started by the Private Sector Organisation of Jamaica and Jamaica Constabulary Force to bring about transformation, beginning in under-resourced communities. HRMAJ members have conducted a ‘Walk and Talk’ in the east downtown Kingston neighbourhoods of Rose Gardens and Parade Gardens, two neighbourhoods where Project STAR has begun to implement stakeholder and community engagement activities.
