JCF welcomes Project STAR to Westmoreland

The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) has partnered with the Private Sector Organisation of Jamaica (PSOJ) to launch Project STAR, a social and economic development initiative aimed at transforming under-resourced residential areas in Jamaica. Senior Superintendent Wayne Josephs, head of the Westmoreland Police Division, has welcomed the initiative and highlighted the social and economic benefits it could bring to troubled communities in Westmoreland. Project STAR aims to bring about societal transformation through targeted interventions in approximately 20 under-resourced residential areas in Jamaica. The project will be funded through a mixed financing model, including profits from listing on the Jamaica Social Stock Exchange, corporate donations, diaspora crowdfunding and multilateral funding.
